Our first week online!

amazers-blog:

WOW - how to start.. We’ve been online for 7 days (170 hours to be precise) but considering everything that happened in this past week, we feel like it’s been much longer, which is a good thing! :)

First of all, a massive THANK YOU to all those of you who’ve already joined Amazers! We’re just…

That’s very understandable. To spend time with your parents, believe me, I think that is very, very cool. I just want to emphasize the community aspect of this job. We see this workplace as a community, and every person who works here is part of that community.
Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.

We Are Makers (by Learning Studio)

We Are Makers tells the story of the Maker Movement.

It’s the story not of tools but of people. A publisher. An entrepreneur. A design professor. A middle school teacher. Two museum educators. And a creative director.

Each provides an important viewpoint on why new technologies and communities of making are bringing us back to something deeply human.

Entrepreneur is someone who has a vision for something and a want to create.

The vision of Tumblr have stayed the same since the beginning: "the easiest platform for sharing yourself"
Yahoo has bought the cool factor: a community and content fitting with it.

Axelle Tessandier, digital hippie. (by loiclemeur)

An interview with Loic Le Meur where I share my thoughts on the “digital hippies” idea, the theme of Le Web London 2013.

Digital hippies is an expression I love to use to talk about the new creative community and mindset the internet revolution creates.

The interview was posted with my guest  post : (Our) New Age.

The great thing about the modern world — and the Internet is both an instrument and a metaphor for it — is that everybody’s connected and everything is connected. It’s like I said if you look at this precipitous drop in life expectancy among white high-school dropouts, there are clear medical reasons for it but there are also psychological and social reasons that have reinforced it. And if you look at what’s working where the places that are growing economically in America, places that are doing best around the world, you have these creative networks of cooperation.
